Cancer Detection Program: Every Woman Counts

Helping underserved women receive free breast cancer screening and diagnostic services. Cancer Detection Programs: Every Woman Counts is funded by federal grant and state tobacco tax revenue.

  • Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death for women in California.
  • One in eight women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Regular screening for breast cancer can detect cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage and save lives.

    Serivces Provided

  • Breast cancer screening.
  • Diagnostic services including clinical breast exams, and mammograms.

    Eligiblity Requirements

  • Must be 40 or older.
  • Low income (at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty level)
  • Have no or limited health insurance coverage.
