Senior Leadership Team

Mary Lou has been with United Health Centers since 1997 working in several Key leadership positions as a Health Center Manager at the Sanger Clinic, the Patient Billing department supervisor and most recently in 2010 the Director of Patient Financial Services which was a newly formed position in the organization. The impact Mary Lou has had in the organization has been remarkable and can be attributed to her abilities to organize, educate and lead her staff to remarkable achievements. As a Health Center Manager she had rapidly become aware of how Important both clinical outcomes and administrative competence can equally affect the patient and their perception of quality care and great customer service. Working successfully in the complex health care environment with numerous professional positions and administrative office staff, its successful increase in patients seen as well as in their satisfaction was one of Mary Lou’s great strengths. Mary Lou has great skills and abilities that make her an effective manager and leader. She has demonstrated these attributes in the work place and equally remarkable is that she has shown and developed on a personal and professional level while developing a proactive relationship with her community. Mary Lou has become a Certified Professional Coder and is active in the American Academy of Professional Coders by being a newly elected treasurer. Mary Lou has organized numerous fund raisers, food and toy drives within the Patient Financial Services Department for the benefit of the Community She serves. Mary Lou has also led efforts at strategic planning conferences and senior leadership meetings. Due to her overwhelming positive impact on United Health Centers and it’s customer’s makes she has recently been accepted by the Clinical Leadership Institute for the Health Professionals at UCSF to participate in the CLI Emerging Leaders.
Ricardo has been in this position since October 2011. He was born and raised in Mexico City until moving to California in 2001; at the time he was 15 years old. After graduating from college he started his own Marketing Agency called Rollo Latino Marketing, Ricardo likes to stay active and meet new people every day. He also likes to dance and photography is his passion. Ricardo believes in being social responsible and serves on the Board of Directors for several businesses and non-profit organizations. He enjoys working for UHC because he can explore his creativity by creating bold and innovative graphic designs, programming the website, planning creative advertising campaigns, producing video and translating patient information into Spanish. Ricardo believes the poorest person in the world is the one that doesn’t have any dreams but he believes dreams do come true, but you have to work hard in order to accomplish them.
Being the HR Director at United Health Centers is such a rewarding position. It affords me the opportunity to effect change by helping to bring on board people who will make a positive impact. On the clinical side from front office folks to doctors and dentists, on the support side from patient representatives to finance to Information Technology, all of our employees contribute to the overall continued care and well-being of our patients. Our HR department is comprised of helpful, knowledgeable, caring folks who fully support the UHC mission, vision and our ICARE values. Kevin was born and raised in Fresno, CA. His grandfather was a rancher and had two ranches in Sanger, CA. His main crops were grapes, and figs. Kevin would often be right beside him when it came time to harvest. This helped him gain an appreciation for the difficult work that goes into running a ranch. These lessons would later serve as appreciation for the services provided by UHC to the local farm working community. When the opportunity to join UHC presented itself, Kevin felt very ecstatic and hopeful. Prior to joining UHC, Kevin held various leadership positions in Materials Management and most recently with Fresno Surgical Hospital where he served as Manager of Materials. His career spans 20+ years in both retail and healthcare. His first job was at Long’s Drug as an inventory clerk. Much of his experience in management comes from his time with Children’s Hospital of Central California where oversaw Purchasing and Supply.

Norma joined UHC in January of 2012. She initially started in her role as a Director of Special Projects where she oversaw the development of the registration and enrollment & eligibility departments. She also oversaw the development of the policy management system and centralization of the organization’s policies and procedures. In June of 2014, Norma moved into the Director of Operations role where she provided leadership and direction for all 10 health center locations and departments.  Shr guided the coordination of multiple departments to organize cross-functional teams to remove barriers and assisted with the expansion of new sites. As of December of 2015, Norma will directly oversee the call center and Health Education departments. 

She is responsible for all stages and types of health center initiatives for the implementation and improvement of departments and operations.  Norma provides a proactive interface between the staff, leadership staff and vendors/independent contractors to ensure effective definition and completion of operational objectives as set by the Board of Director and Executive Team. Norma earned a Master’s degree in Finance and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in International Business from California State University, Fresno. Norma was formerly employed by Aetna for over 12 years serving in various positions from Customer Service Coordinator, Economic Analyst, to Trainer. She also taught part-time at Fresno City College Medical. She is committed to seeing continual improvements in operational efficiency and customer service at all levels in the operation of each health center.

Mabodawilage Hematillake, M.D. to serves as Associate Medical Director. Dr. Hematillake provides assistance support to the UHC Chief Medical Director while overseeing 14 health center providers. Dr. Hematillake is a graduate of St. George's University School of Medicine and brings over 20 years of practice experience.
Sara Joined UHC in 2007 and came with 20 years of experience in the Rural Health care setting. During her tenure in the hospital based ambulatory setting, she opened new clinics in Dinuba, Parlier and Selma. She held various positions within the surrounding communities, as well as, the rural health setting over her tenure. Sara is involved with several committees including improving patient satisfaction, operational outcomes, patient advocacy and process improvement. Sara has strong roots in the community of Parlier and surrounding farming communities. As a child Sara and her family received medical and dental services at the Parlier site. “When the opportunity arrived I jumped at the chance to become the manager at the site in Parlier and make a difference in the community that I grew up in, this was an atmosphere that patients are not discriminated against because of the type of insurance or more importantly the lack of insurance”. As a manager at the Parlier site Sara held a seat on UHC Quality Improvement Committee and led and developed the process improvement committee Sara became the Quality Improvement Director in August 2014.

Hank joined UHC in February 2012 as an Electronic Health Records (EHR) Systems Administrator where he had the opportunity to provide extensive technical and training support to providers and staff on electronic health and dental systems. Hank served eight years in the U.S. Air Force in communications systems technologies. He brings technical and entrepreneurial experience from Network Corps, a company he partnered and managed that improved productivity for a network of pharmacies of a major HMO. With that combination and experience, Hank spearheaded the newly formed Department of Data Management and Analytics. Believing and experiencing firsthand the mission of our Health Centers, it is his department’s responsibility to organize the increasing amounts of data to produce the best quality indicators and reports for leadership, clinicians, and staff in order to enhance decision-making and improve inefficiencies. All of which leads to better overall patient care services. Hank holds a Master of Business Administrations from California State University, Fresno and a degree in Electronic Systems Technology from the U.S. Air Force.

Blake is originally from Mississippi and relocated to California 12 years ago. His past positions have been located in the East Bay area of California and for the past 5 years in the Central Valley. His experience consists of Casino Gaming, Retail, Durable Medical Equipment and Dental at a multi-unit level. Blake’s passion is creating a healthy workforce so that they in return can create healthy patients. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their 2 English Bulldogs in Lake Tahoe, CA and many other pet friendly communities. He is an avid college football fan and enjoys watching and cheering on his favorite team, Ole Miss University. He is very excited to come aboard and contribute to the team, community and foundations that United Health Centers serve.
