ADVOCACY UPDATE - CONGRESS FINDS AGREEMENT ON FY18 FUNDING

On March 22, 2018, Congress passed a $1.3 trillion FY18 spending package that will provide dedicated and reliable funding for the federal government through September 30, 2018. The bill builds upon Congress' historic commitment to community health centers by providing $1.626 billion in discretionary federal grant funding to support and expand primary care access in over 10,000 rural and urban communities in the U.S.

Combined with the extension in February of the mandatory Community Health Center Fund, this brings the total funding for community health centers in FY18 to $5.4 billion; an increase of more than $300 million to support the essential work of health centers across the country!

Our UHC Executive Leaders and UHC Board Members demonstrated the power of advocates while on Capitol Hill in March as part of the National Association of Community Health Centers Policy & Issues Forum, to deliver the Health Center message!

Please thank Congress for their support by calling the toll-free advocacy hotline 1-866-456-3949 to reach your Member of Congress by phone.
