On May 16th, several members of the UHC Leadership team, along with UHC staff, attended the Fresno Healthcare Coalition Strategy Forum at The Falls Event Center in Fresno. The forum was organized by Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, which is one of 10 coalition member partners, to highlight the importance of Medi-Cal to Fresno County's economy and discuss the impact of potential reform.

Attendees included healthcare providers, community based organizations, as well as, representatives from businesses and local government. The focus of the event was on the economic impacts on different cross sectors in Fresno County. UHC Deputy CEO, Justin Preas, participated as a panelist in a discussion about the local impact on healthcare systems, specifically services, including dental care for adults.

"It was a really informed discussion with various community and healthcare leaders regarding the potential impacts to patients and communities if the Affordable Care Act and Medi-Cal expansion is retracted," he said.
