United Health Centers (UHC) provides area residents with an opportunity to join our award winning Volunteer Program to enhance overall patient satisfaction through engaged voluntary service by members of the community who are willing to serve UHC in an unpaid Volunteer Capacity.  This program encompasses our Mission and Vision by providing a committed program that “improves the quality of life for the communities we serve".

The Volunteer Program also provides those who are interested in careers in healthcare and who are attending accredited schools and institutions with the opportunity to gain work experience and to put their training to use within the Health Center. Generally, as required by many programs, student volunteers are required to complete a set amount of hours in order to complete their program. UHC provides experience and training to vocational schools, colleges, and specialty programs.

In addition, the Volunteer Program has a 100-hour minimum commitment and may include any community member (age 16 years or older) who would like to become involved in their communities. The Volunteer Program manages all unpaid programs such as interns, externs, student shadows, preceptors, residents, apprenticeships, and volunteers (students and community members). To be considered please submit a volunteer application and a current copy of your tuberculosis (TB) screening via email to Naomi Popoff.

The Volunteer Program strives to make every volunteer successful and we are dedicated to serving our Health Centers and our community in every way we can. If you are interested in becoming an “Awesome” Volunteer please contact the Volunteer Program Manager, Naomi H. Popoff at (559) 646-6618, ext. 0029. You can also email at popoffna@unitedhealthcenters.org.
