Women, Infants, & Children Program (WIC)
United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley, WIC program is a food and nutrition program for growing families. The WIC program provides benefits on an EBT card to buy healthy foods, provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, referrals to health care and other community services.
We have appointments by phone, video, online, and in-person. There are no waitlists, get enrolled today! Give us a call at 1-866-WIC-MOMS or walk-in to any of our locations and we'll be glad to assist you.
WIC welcomes mothers, fathers, migrant families, military families, foster parents, and legal guardians with eligible children.

Breastfeeding Resources
The California WIC Program promotes, supports, and protects exclusive breastfeeding for approximately the first six months of life, and continued breastfeeding for at least the first year.
WIC Qualifications
You may qualify for WIC if you:
- Are Pregnant
- Are Breastfeeding
- Just had a baby
- Had a recent pregnancy loss in the last six months
- Have a child or care for a child under age 5
AND
- Have low-to-medium income or receive Medi-Cal, CalWORKS (TANF), or CalFresh (SNAP) benefits
AND
- Live in California

First WIC Appointment
What do I need on my first visit?
The only requirements for the first appointment are proof of identification for all person's being enrolled. Proof of income and address will be required to continue to receive benefits after 30 days.
WIC is a non-reporting program. Proof of citizenship is not required and migrant workers are welcome to apply.
List of required documents:
- Identification for yourself and any children under age 5
- Proof of your address (ID, paycheck with address, rent document, or utility bill)
- Proof of your family's household income (paycheck, tax return, letter from employer, Medi-Cal card)
- If you or your child receive Medi-Cal, you may be able to use your active Medi-Cal card as proof of income
- Proof of pregnancy
- Medical forms or WIC Referral filled out by your health care provider

WIC Card
You will get your WIC card in-person or by mail. If you enroll in person at a WIC office you will receive your WIC card the same day at your appointment. If you enroll by phone or online we will mail your WIC card or you can choose to pick up at your local WIC office.
If your WIC card has been lost, stolen or damaged you have a few options:
- Call your local WIC office
OR - You can report it to the following number 1-844-469-3264, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- If your PIN number has been compromised, please call the toll-free number to stop access to your card immediately
WIC Shopping
Shopping for your WIC foods has never been easier. The California WIC card works at any authorized grocer in California and you can use your WIC app to make shopping fun and easy. Here are some shopping tips:
- Make sure to take your WIC card with you to the grocery store
- Look for the WIC logo at the entrance of the store
- Tell the cashier right away that you are using your WIC food benefits
- Ask when to swipe your WIC card and enter your PIN
- Pay with your WIC card before using other forms of payment
